The mother of John Barnett, a former Boeing quality manager who died earlier this month, told CBS News that she holds the aircraft manufacturing giant responsible for her son's death. Barnett, who had raised concerns about the safety of Boeing's planes, was found dead during a break in depositions against the company.
Dean becomes the second Boeing whistleblower to die suddenly after Josh Barnett was found dead less than two months ago. Barnett, a former Boeing employee, died of a gunshot wound. John Barnett, who spent more than three decades at Boeing, sounded the alarm with company executives about manufacturing flaws that he believed could lead to catastrophic failures. His concerns were largely ignored, and he was ultimately fired by the company.
