Waurika Public Schools has canceled classes for the day on Wednesday, March 8, due to threats made against the school.

In a statement released by the school district, officials said that they received a threat that was deemed to be credible. Law enforcement is currently investigating the threat and working to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The school district said that they are working closely with law enforcement and that they will provide updates as they become available.

Parents are asked to keep their children home from school today. All after-school activities have also been canceled.
